New Life Christian Academy (NLCA) offers a large range of services for school aged children. The school is fully accredited and has been serving the children of our community since 1985. We have a 2,500 volume library, a computer lab, two playgrounds, a gymnasium, a ball field and a cafeteria. Chapel is held weekly and chapel dress is required. Our teacher to student ratio is 1:10 and student retention rate is 85-90%.
Our college preparatory curriculum is primarily ABeka at the younger levels and BJU Press at the upper grade levels, supplemented by other texts and materials as needed. Spanish I,II, III classes are taught as well as advanced math, science and English. We also accommodate dual enrollment classes for college credit. Classes are also offered in speech, fine arts, and sign language. The school follows all requirements for the State of Virginia with the only exception being SOL testing.
The college entrance rate in the last six graduating classes is 94% with students accepted at Longwood University, VCU, University of Virginia, Hampden-Sydney, Hocking College, Light University, Southside Virginia Community College, John Tyler, International University in Holland and United Theological Seminary in Belgium. New Life Christian Academy also hosts Exchange students.
Tuition rates will continue to be $4700 for the 2013-1014 school year. This great value includes registration, book fees, and tuition for grades K through 12. Additional fees associated with sports teams and clubs are in addition to the activity fee.
New Life Learning Center (NLLC) is our Special Education program for children 6-12 years old and is licensed by the Virginia Department of Education. NLLC has been in operation since 2006.
