Remember the registration fee for next school year is only $300.00 if paid by May 18, 2012.  After the 18^th the registration fee is $400.00.

PLEASE take a few moments this week to show your appreciation for New Life’s fabulous teachers.  I know they would each appreciate a card telling them how they have helped bring about changes in your child’s life.

PARENT NEWSLETTER   March 23, 2012

Dear parents, Thank you all so much for showing up at the PTP meeting last night!  It was wonderful to hear your suggestions and thoughts.

Opening reception for the Longwood Center for Visual Arts “Annual Area Youth Art Exhibit” is Sunday, March 25 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.  Approximately twenty five of our students will have their work exhibited in the show.  The public is invited to attend.

Sports Awards are tonight at 7:00 PM.

This Sunday night, March 11, at 6:30 pm the Africa Missions Team will be reporting in the church sanctuary.  This is the trip that Mrs. Leslie went on in January.  Please come and hear about all that God did there!

Thank you to all the children who participated in the School Mall fundraiser!  This will raise funds to help with the “Playground Project”.   Logan Routt was the winner of the drawing for Joe-Bot-the-Robot.  Good job Logan!

With the unusual weather coughs and colds are multiplying!!!  Please send in one box of tissues for each of your children.  Thank you.

STANFORD TESTING will be held next week for grades 1, 3, and 7.

The children will be bringing home a booklet for you to fill out, with names and addresses of friends and family, and return on Friday.  This is a small fundraiser for our school.  The folks whose names are received will in turn receive ONE TIME small catalog of items for sale as well as a link to the “School Mall” for which NLCA receives up to 50% of the sales.  Children will receive small prizes for returning their booklet on 3/2 and they will be entered into a grand prize drawing on Wednesday the 6^th.  The grand prize is a remote controlled robot!

The March of Dimes Farmville Area March for Babies will be held April 1, 2012 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm.  Please contact the school office for more information.

Effective March 1^st there will be a .25 cent fine per day for late library books.  The due date for all library books is two weeks from the date of check out.  All fine money will go to adding new books to our library.

The Art Department is requesting baby wipes.  I f you feel inclined to donate even one box please send it to the office with your child.

NLCA has a new visitor’s policy in place.  ALL visitors, even parents, must sign in at the office, and must wear a name badge during their visit to the school.

Parents who wish to speak to teachers should arrange a conference time through the office.  From 8:30 – 3:00 teachers are in their classrooms monitoring students and are not available for conferences.  If you have an urgent matter, let the office staff know and they will cover the class so the teacher can come speak with you.

Monday, February 13^th the Lions will be playing at home!  All three teams will compete, so join us for the second to the last game of the season!!!
